Context


Nauto’s customers can seamlessly navigate our guided installation process within the Installer mobile app, enabling them to install, replace, upgrade, reassign, or remount devices with efficiency and ease.


Problem


The current or old Installer app experience provided too much flexibility and failed to guide installers in placing the device in the optimal location. The result of this is poor AI accuracy detection.

The overall team objective is to reduce overall customer support issues related to installation.

Solution


To address these substantial challenges and increase the chances of successful installations, we need to communicate the following in the installer app:

  • The driver's face is unobstructed by vehicle parts such as rearview mirror or sun visor.

  • There is adequate padding above the driver's head.

  • The driver's entire upper body is clearly visible.

  • The driver's hands are visible, especially when using a cellphone, smoking, or holding objects.

  • The driver's lap is in the frame.

  • The seatbelt buckle is in the frame.

Outcome


  • Installer app related support tickets were reduced by 30%

  • Number of remounts reduced by 50%

  • Number of return trips to customer on-site by 50%
